Alexandria & Stephen’s Paradise Valley Country Club Wedding was one for the books. An elegant, classic and flower-filled design beautifully executed by Revel Wedding Co. and Lux Florist perfectly complimented the PVCC backdrop. So excited to share these images and words from beautiful & bubbly bride Alexandria!
Wedding Vision
I had a totally and completely different vision of how I wanted my wedding to look. At first, I wanted a very boho style wedding with flower crowns and dream catchers and the whole bit! However, after doing more research and saving photos for inspiration, I did a complete 180 and went for a very classic and elegant wedding. I have absolutely no regrets and would do it all over again if I could!
Color Palette
Black, white, and baby pink. I wanted to look back on photos and think “Elegance” versus “Trendy”. Ultimately my vision became very classic and chic!
Unique Elements
We used a circle arch since a circle is symbolic to us. It’s never ending just like our love. Super cheesy I know, but we love it! I also absolutely loved our black and white dance floor!
I am a special education teacher and my students/paraprofessionals created some art pieces that I had on display when guests walked in. Additionally, I had 2 Build-A-Bears on display as well; one was dressed as a bride and the other was dressed as a groom. I made them when I was 9 years old and I promised myself that they would be at my future wedding.
I loved having flower petals thrown at us while we walked down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. We got some really cool photos that way!
Alexandra & Stephen opted to share vows in a private moment after the ceremony, it was such a special and intimate way to personalize the day!
The dress..
My wedding dress from Mariee Bridal was custom made and absolutely beautiful! We had the dress beaded and I added a full blown skirt to be worn over my dress. It was a surprise to my husband. We did a “first look” after the ceremony with my skirt taken off. It was super fun!
Details
I told Lux Florist “I want the room to look like it threw up flowers” haha. Well, we scaled back a bit, but I absolutely love the flowers! We had tall center pieces, short center pieces, flowers and greenery hanging from the chandeliers, a full circle arch for the ceremony (that was also brought inside and was behind the sweetheart table), flower petals lining the isle, flowers along the backside of the rows during the ceremony, etc. My wedding cake was the most BEAUTIFUL wedding cake I have ever seen! 5 tiers, white fondant, and real roses cascading along the side.
Favorite Moment
FIREWORKS!!! I wanted a firework show right from the beginning but was told that the venue was “sold out” of permits. Well, little did I know that my granddad bought the last permit a year in advance as our wedding gift. We did our cake cutting outside and right when we kissed after eating our bites, the firework show started!!!
Bride’s Advice
At the end of the day, this is YOUR day and your HUSBAND’S day. Make sure you are making decisions that will make you both happy. I don’t want to look back on my wedding and think “I should have done this, I wish we didn’t do that, etc”. Sure, I made compromises with family members, however, we were always able to find a solution that made me comfortable. Also, during the reception, take your new husband aside and just sit back and watch everything and take it all in. This is the only time in your lives where you will have everyone important to you under one roof. Enjoy every bit of it!!
