Kendall & Joe’s Paradise Valley estate wedding was intimate, elegant and incredibly personal. I love that the wedding took place in the backyards of Joe’s parents and aunt and uncle. It is so special to have the memories of your happiest day in a place that you will return to over and over again. It doesn’t hurt that both homes are incredibly gorgeous and with Carte Blanche’s flowers and Courtney’s attention to detail, the backyards were transformed into Kendall & Joe’s lush and classic wedding vision. I loved every minute of capturing Kendall & Joe’s Paradise Valley private estate wedding and feel lucky to be part of love stories like theirs.
From the Bride: I always envisioned my wedding being a very intimate and personal night with my closest family and friends. I wanted our personalities to shine through in every detail and the love we have for each other to be the focus. We both agreed that a traditional wedding venue wasn’t for us, and that’s when we decided on Joe’s family’s backyard. Being together since high school, we have experienced so much of our lives in that home and it couldn’t have been a more personal place for us to start the rest of our lives together. Not only were we lucky enough to have one beautiful backyard to get married in, but two, as Joe’s aunt lives next door. Having the two houses connected by a gate in the oleanders was my favorite detail of the wedding. Having both backyards gave the guests a unique feel most have never experienced at a wedding. Guests arrived at the first backyard for the ceremony, then crossed over to the neighboring yard for cocktail hour, and back again to see the ceremony space transformed into dinner and dancing. It was such a fun aspect of the night that I loved.
When thinking about my flowers, I really wanted to play off the beautiful landscaping of the yards that were surrounded with lush green oleanders blooming with white flowers. I chose organic arrangements with white peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, spray roses and lots of greenery. I also had a few quicksand roses mixed in to add a touch of pale pink to tie in with my wedding gown.
My wedding gown was my absolute favorite! I have always wanted a big ball gown with a long train and it was exactly that. It was a Monique Lhuillier tulle strapless gown in pale pink with white lace appliques all down the front and back of the dress.
Everything about that night was perfect to us and that would be my one piece of advice. Do whatever is perfect for you and try not to get too caught up in what everyone else wants, it takes the personal feel out of it and that is what it’s all about!
